Year 2002

First WSF NPK 19 19 19 was registered in FCO Schedule V, based on Kemira-UAS trial report, along with major reform in regulatory frame work.
End of selling license system & introduction of “Memorandum of Intimation based system introduced.

Grape Scenario : 47.5 thousand ha, production: 1184.2 thousand tons
WSF scenario: 4912 MT

Year 2005-12

Year 2005 marks for China-India formal Trade relation on WSF & Direct access established in 2005.
The landmark MKP case was ruled in favor of the importers, leading to a reduction in customs duty from 56% to 5%.
Calcium Nitrate, NPK 13 40 13, Potassium Nitrate and a few others approved in FCO.
Domestic production of NPK 19 19 19 & few other grades started in 2007 in Gujarat.
Grape Scenario: area was 111.4 thousand ha and production was 2220.6 thousand tons
WSF Scenario : 75,000 MT

Year 2010-23

Introduction of Bio stimulants around 2009-2011
FCO listing of Bio Fertilizers, Zn, Ca, Fe EDTA and a few other fertilizers. In 2014 rule of NPK combination of 2 element 30%, 3 elements 40% also notified.
Introduction of Schedule VI Bio Stimulant law
Local capacity development NPK formulations.
WSF Scenario : 238795 Mt, 35000 tons of Mixed NPK production

Year 2024-25

Bio stimulants are listed in FCO. New WSFs in liquid forms are also notified.
Calcium Nitrate & Mono ammonium Phosphate are two main products of the market..
Grape Scenario: area was 175 thousand ha and production was 3890 thousand tons
WSF Scenario : Total Import to touch 375 thousand tons. Domestic production of formulations 40-50 thousand tons.
