National President

One of the founder members of SFIA, Mr. Rajib Chakraborty is known for his contribution in introduction, propagation and legalization of water soluble fertilizers industry (WSF) in India. Today WSF is the backbone of 320 million tons of horticulture crop production. Started with his involvement in India’s first WSF NPK 19-19-19 registration in FCO in 2002, today he has more than 20 years of experience in fertilizer policy matters, especially in FCO and technology development of indigenous specialty fertilizer manufacturing.

National Secretary

A seasoned entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in manufacturing, importing, and marketing specialized agro inputs. He holds degrees in Chemistry, Botany, Law, and International Trade, and is a trained chemist from the Bureau of Indian Standards. Recipient of the U.P. Government’s Best Entrepreneurship Award (1989–90), he has deep expertise in agronomic practices across India. Passionate about sustainability, he promotes world-class sports fields, landscaping, polyhouses, and hi-tech farming under the vision “See Green, Think of Us.” He is an active member of various industry bodies and a frequent speaker at national and international forums.

Mr. Jitendra Gami (M.Sc. Agriculture) is a prominent leader in Gujarat’s fertilizer and crop nutrition industry. He serves as Managing Director of Hollis Crop Science Pvt. Ltd. and Treasurer of the Soluble Fertilizer Industry Association (SFIA). With over 30 years of experience, he has built a strong national brand focused on quality water-soluble fertilizers and farmer needs. Known for his humility and business acumen, he actively supports policy advocacy and promotes sustainable agriculture practices like precision farming and soil health management, contributing significantly to India’s fertilizer ecosystem.

Mr. Balasaheb Thombare is a pioneering figure in the Indian water-soluble fertilizer (WSF) industry, playing a crucial role in its development and growth. With over 30 years of experience, he has been instrumental in shaping the sector alongside Mr. Rajib Chakraborty. As a pioneer, he has contributed to the development and growth of this sector, which plays a vital role in modern agriculture by providing essential nutrients to plants in a water-soluble form. Additionally, his role as a senior agronomist highlights his expertise in the science of crop production and soil management. A recognized expert in the Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) 1985, he brings deep regulatory knowledge to the industry.

Mr. D. Ramesh Chandran, a pioneering figure in the Indian fertilizer industry and one of the founding members of the Soluble Fertiliser Industry Association (SFIA), has leveraged his 35+ years of expertise to drive the adoption of Water-Soluble Fertilizer (WSF) technology in South India. As a trailblazer in introducing WSF to the Indian market, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the region’s fertilizer landscape. His efforts have enabled local farmers to enhance crop yields, improve fertilizer efficiency, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Through his work, Mr. Chandran has contributed significantly to the growth and modernization of India’s fertilizer sector, setting new benchmarks for innovation and excellence in the industry.
